This New England home was inspired by the original details of the historic Wells Thorn House which still stands in Deerfield, Massachusetts. This deceptively simple Georgian home with its strict symmetrical facade carries some very detailed features from the Georgian era. The heavy modillion mouldings found underneath the roofline eave are balanced by the window heads above the first story windows. Another interesting detail to note is the overhanging gable end which draws from the earliest Medieval home designs brought over from England. (Photos by Jim Westphalen Photography)
